Direct comparison: a profile next to the job description
The direct comparison puts a shared profile and your job description side by side. For every requirement it shows where the profile backs it up, whether only a related skill covers it, or whether the profile doesn't mention it. You know what is still open before the first conversation.
Working with the comparison
- Starting point
A profile from the talent search
A profile covers much of your job, but two required skills don't appear in it explicitly.
- Action
Open the direct comparison
From the talent search you open the direct comparison. Profile and job description sit side by side; you pick a requirement and see the passages on both sides.
- Result
Evidence instead of a verdict
Every requirement carries a kind of evidence: listed as a skill, mentioned in the profile text, covered by a related skill, answered personally, or not found in the profile.
- Next step
Clarify open points
Whatever stays open, you ask the person about. Their answer then appears in the same comparison.

Requirement: The direct comparison is part of talent search in the Team Pro plan. It compares profiles with your own jobs. Plans and pricing
One profile, one job
The comparison always puts exactly one profile next to one job. It shows overlaps and gaps, not a ranking of people.
Must-have and optional
Every requirement carries the classification from your job: must-have, optional or not classified. You see whether a gap affects the assignment or would only be a plus.
Read it, don't take it on trust
For each requirement the comparison shows the passage in the profile and in the job description. A match through a related skill is marked as such; it does not yet show hands-on experience with the requested skill.
In the app, with your assistant before it
You open the direct comparison in the app. Over MCP, talent search gives your assistant the met, related and missing requirements for each result, so you know which profiles to look at more closely.
Frequently asked questions
What does “Not found in the profile” mean?
The requirement doesn't appear in the shared profile. That says nothing about whether the person has the skill. If in doubt, ask them.
Which profiles can I compare?
Profiles the talent search shows you for your job. Only people who have explicitly made their profile discoverable appear there.
Is the direct comparison available over MCP?
No, the direct comparison is a view in the app. Over MCP, talent search returns the met, related and missing requirements for each result.
