Frequently asked questions
Do I have to start from a blank page?
No. Most people start by dropping in an existing CV as a PDF, screenshot or photo; Aptora parses it into a profile you edit from there. Starting from scratch works too.
Can the AI change my resume without my approval?
You grant specific permissions to the MCP connection. Within those permissions, your assistant can create or update profiles; the details stay editable in the profile editor. Ask to review drafts before saving them. File import in the Aptora app has its own review step.
How do designs work?
Themes are applied at render time to the same profile document. You can switch themes any time and preview the result as a real page before exporting a PDF or sharing a link.
Is the resume builder free?
Yes. The builder and the entire MCP integration are free for you. You use your own AI agent and only pay for its subscription if it requires one — connecting it to Aptora costs nothing extra. Many features in Aptora are free too. If you need more, our paid plans offer additional features, especially for recruitment agencies and consultancies working with multiple profiles and teams.
